Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles on Tuesday defeated Zambia to record its first 3points and boosted it chance to be in the last four at the ongoing U23 African Nations Cup in Egypt,

The Coach Imama Amapakabo led team played the game of their lives were impressive on the night as they came from a goal down to beat Zambia 3-1 in their second group game in Cairo.

Daka had put Zambia ahead in the 12th minute before Orji Okonkwo levelled things up four minutes later.

The second half was for Nigeria as Captain Kelechi Nwakali brighten things up for his team scoring from a beautiful set-piece in the 65th minute before Mainz of Germany ace, Taiwo Awoninyi put the icing on the cake for Nigeria with a 90th minute goal.

In the 1st Group B of the day, South Africa defeated Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 to blow the group open.
With the victory, South Africa go top of the log with 4⃣ points after their draw with Zambia on MatchDay 1 followed by Nigeria with 3⃣ points.

Ivory Coast are third in the order on 3⃣points followed by Zambia on a point.

Nigeria will face South Africa in their last group match for a place in the semi-finals.

The top three teams from the championship will represent Africa in the Tokyo Olympics men’s football event.
